Our School, Maharatha Govt High School, Naharakanta (previously known as Maharatha Vidyapeetha), is a premier institution in the Naharakanta area established in the year 1960.
It was founded by the then Jamindar of the area, Maharatha Divyasingh Mohapatra. He generously donated the land for the establishment of this school, which is why it proudly bears his name.
There is also a neighboring institution, Jayadev College of Education, Naharakanta, which stands beside our school. The land for this college was also donated by Maharatha Divyasingh Mohapatra,
highlighting his dedication to education in the region.
